Edinburgh man 'absolutely fuming' after hotel mix up leaves him sharing bed with friend

Chris Bennison had booked a two-night stay for himself at the North Stafford Hotel in Stoke so he could enjoy Liam Gallagher's Knebworth gig

He travelled from the capital with a male friend, and claims the hotel charged him for booking an unavailable room and refused to give him a refund.

After he booked a twin room, which he paid £188 for, the 42-year-old arrived with his friend they found that the room was a double, and not a twin, and only had a double bed. Chris went to reception as the paid didn't want to share a bed and he thought a mistake had been made.

Staff told him, however, that it was the only room they had available and then refused to give him his money back. With no other option they had to stay, StokeonTrentLive reports.

Chris and his friend had driven from Edinburgh to join a coach trip from Stoke-on-Trent to see Liam Gallagher's June 4 gig at Knebworth. Chris said: "I've stayed at the hotel before and I booked it because it was cheap. I booked a twin room.

"We arrived at about 9pm on June 3, checked in, and paid. It appears to me that they took the money knowing full well that they didn't have a twin room. We only found out when we went to the room and there was only a double bed.
