Edinburgh NHS nurse says her holiday was 'ruined' after Ed Sheeran tickets cancelled

Emergency service staff who received tickets to the highly-anticipated gig in Glasgow were ultimately left with nothing as the organisers, AEG Presents, withdrew a large section of allocated tickets at the last minute

The company has since apologised for the mishap and said that those who were left without will receive free tickets the next time the singer returns to Scotland.

However, for this particular Edinburgh woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, her holiday was "wasted" after she booked annual leave from work to take the trip through to Glasgow with her son.

She received an email, through Concerts for Carers, saying that it has come to their attention that there are no longer tickets available for the performance on Thursday.

The woman, who received the email on Wednesday night, June 15, the night before the gig, said: "Not only did they cancel the tickets, they took £4.50 from all of us who won the ballot and gave it to charity, without asking.

"My tickets were for Thursday and they essentially just got cancelled point-blank. It was through Concerts for Carers and they sent me an email saying I'd won the ballot for tickets and charged me £4.50 to my registered card.

"I then received the email cancelling them. I asked why and they simply responded: 'We are sorry about Ed'. Blue Light also cancelled tickets but some still got authorised.

"It's so annoying as I had booked annual leave from work, it's a wasted holiday. I went down on Thursday to try and get some tickets but they were all sold out."
