Edinburgh police scramble to disturbance at residential chip shop

Officers say that they were called to attend an incident at the residential row of shops and takeaways in Drum Brae

It is not understood what had caused the disturbance however police have said that a group of people were involved but that no injuries had been reported.

The new Passion chip shop had two police officers gathering statements from several staff members within the eatery.

The shutters to the premises were lowered when an Edinburgh Live journalist arrived on the scene at around 7:00pm.

Several residents in the community were seen gathered outside of the chip shop trying to understand what had occurred at the premises.

A concerned resident posted on a local community Facebook group asking for more information.

They said: "Does anyone know what's happening at Duart Crescent? There's a large Police attendance at the Chip Shop, five police cars arrived with sirens and blue lights, dogs and all."
