Edinburgh shopkeeper fumes as fly-tippers leave city centre an 'embarrassment'

As a main thoroughfare from Waverley Station to the Old Town, Joe claims the area can become "horrendous". Edinburgh Council said they had received no fly-tipping complaints from this location in the last year, and urged residents to report incidents directly to them.

Images from the street taken recently show a mattress dumped on the pavement. Another shows several bin bags left by the side of overflowing bins, despite there being more "just down the street".

Joe said residents in the area are "too lazy" to use other bins and end up dumping stuff.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live , Joe said: "The fact is a main street from Waverley to the Old Town is left in a state from people dumping stuff.
