Edinburgh student's treasured bike stolen from stairwell by callous crooks

Emily Dienger, a sports policy management and development student at the University of Edinburgh left her flat early in the afternoon, Tuesday June 14, to find her bike missing from the stairwell of the building

She had seen it the night before, which means it had been stolen over the night or in the early hours of the morning.

The 23-year-old student says that she believes the thief got into the building after the exterior doors to the stairwell were left open.

She has now reported the incident to the police but is desperate to get the bike back as it would cost an entire month of her pay to replace it.

Emily said: "I discovered it was stolen around 2pm, I had come home from the gym at 11:30 and it had been there and I went to the library to get some studying done and it was gone.
