Edinburgh weather: City to see temperatures reach 21C on Monday

Despite missing out on a heatwave that swept across much of England, the capital still enjoyed pleasant weekend weather

But on Monday Edinburgh will see a spike in temperatures - with the city set to be as hot as other European cities including Paris and London, the Met Office said it will be: "Dry with some lengthy spells of warm sunshine, locally very warm across parts of the south. Light winds. Maximum temperature 21 °C."

A look ahead by the Met Offices shows capital temperatures will drop slightly to 19C from Tuesday to Thursday, with cloudy skies.

Unfortunately at the end of the week rain will return, with showers forecast for Friday and Saturday. The Met Office adds it will be: "Mainly dry and cloudy on Tuesday, chance of the odd shower. Dry with variable amounts of cloud on Wednesday and Thursday, but some warm sunshine too."
