Euros 2020: Hundreds of Scottish football fans in kilts descend on Hyde Park leaving runners 'bemused'

Around 800 Scottish supporters in kilts turned up in London's famous park, with police officers watching nervously while passing runners and couples on pedaloes looked at the scene, somewhat confused.

Police sent eight riot vans and about 100 officers to the Serpentine just in case things got out of hand, reports the Daily Record.

Social distancing was not even considered as the Scottish fans sang their hearts out.

Songs included Flower of Scotland and We’ll Be Coming Down The Road.

One police officer on the scene said: “There’s been no aggression and no real bad behaviour.

“On saying that, there’s a fair number of people who are already very drunk and that’s why there’s such a visible police presence.

“Everyone would prefer it if social distancing was observed, given the pandemic that is ongoing, but we fully expected this...
