It has been rumoured that Wembley could be stripped of the semi finals and final of Euro 2020 due to quarantine rules, with UEFA reportedly developing a contingency plan.

England play all three of their group games at the North London stadium, and will host Scotland this evening June 18.

But the sting in the tail comes from UEFA who hoped that restrictions would have eased in the UK prior to the last round of matches.

As the June 21 "freedom day" was moved back four weeks, UEFA officials are said to have concerns over the logistics surrounding the organisation’s biggest trio of games.

The report also states that the UK government is standing firm on their guidelines and will insist on a 10-day quarantine for all visitors from countries on the amber list.

However in a statement, UEFA confirmed plans were in place in order to ensure the maximum number of fans are able to watch the games -with the organisation expressing "confidence" that London could host the final week of the event.

"UEFA is delighted that the capacity at Wembley will go up to at least 50% for the knock-out round matches,” the statement read.

"At the moment, we are in discussions with the local authorities to try to allow fans of the participating teams to attend the matches, using a strict testing and bubble concept that would mean their stay in the UK would be less than 24...
