The former CEO of Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC), John Stumpf, has been given a lifetime banking ban.

John Stumpf has been barred from the banking industry for life for overseeing a programme at the bank that allegedly forced millions of customers to have bogus financial products. The ban was imposed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Stumpf has also been asked to pay a fine of USD17.5m.
