Finnish state-owned energy company Fortum (HEL:FORTUM) announced on Friday that it will invest SEK700m (EUR60m) from 2023 to 2030 to modernize the historic Untra Hydropower Plant in Sweden.
This strategic initiative aligns with Fortum's commitment to delivering reliable clean energy and supporting decarbonization in the Nordics.
Untra, one of Sweden's oldest hydropower facilities, currently generates 42 MW of power. The modernization project includes replacing three turbine units and undertaking a substantial restructuring to enhance the plant's ability to provide grid flexibility and supply fossil-free...
