China-based automaker Foton Motor Group is extending its collaboration with the Italy-based Piaggio Group for the joint development of a new range of electrically powered Porter vehicles in Beijing.
The collaboration is intended to extend the Piaggio range of commercial vehicles with two new four-wheel electric variants, aimed at meeting the specific requirements of intra-city mobility, with a combination of compact dimensions and a payload capacity of around one tonne, particularly high for this class of vehicle.
