Free NHS prescriptions: the full list of who is eligible as charges rise in England

Charges for prescription payment certificates PPCs have also increased, with a year-long PPC costing £108.10 – up by £2.20.

A three-month PPC has risen 60p to £30.25, reports the MEN.

These charges only apply to patients in England as prescriptions are free in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

But people living in England who have an exemption are entitled to free prescriptions.

Here is the full list of who is eligible:

People aged 60 and over Children under 16 Teenagers aged 16 to 18 who are in full-time education Pregnant women and mothers of babies up to one year of age NHS hospital patients Recipients of Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit or Universal Credit Some veterans Those with a specified medical condition see below and have a valid medical exemption...
