Much decorated at youth level when an amateur, Georgia O'Connor is about to enter boxing's paid ranks determined to resume her days of medalling glory.

Georgia lives in a tiny hamlet -"it's our house and a couple of sheep" -west of Durham and having given up working in an Italian cafe she is about to go to Northumbria University in September.

"I'm doing a law degree and I want to concentrate on that and on my boxing," she said. "This isn't a bit of fun. I'm giving it my all."
