Good Morning Britain fans all saying same thing about report Meghan Markle could become US President

Tom Bower, who is working on Meghan's biography, said that "she is clearly someone very interested in politics, and I do think that she would like to influence the world", during Thursday's April 1 show.

He pointed out that since she is so well-known across the world "at the expense of the Royal Family " after the Oprah interview, she would in a good position to run for Presidency.

Meghan is also close to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, increasing her likelihood of Democratic nomination.

He said: "She has the right basis for it because she's ambitious and she has a lot to say."

Bower also expressed concerns that Meghan might be too sensitive to take the criticism that comes with being a politician.

TV screenwriter Amna Saleem came to Meghan's defence to say: "I don't think at any point she should stop being sensitive to racism or misogyny, because how will that make her an effective leader"

However, today's date has not escaped the notice of eagle-eyed Good Morning Britain fans, who have taken to Twitter to say that they think the news is an April Fool's Day joke.
