Gordon Ramsay is opening a new pizza restaurant at Battersea Power Station and sweetcorn puree is one of the toppings

Whilst Gordon is no stranger to causing a stir when he makes an announcement, the inclusion of one particular topping on the menu will be sure to raise some eyebrows.
The new restaurant will offer diners the opportunity to feast on £15 bottomless sourdough pizzas served by the slice so diners can enjoy all of the restaurant’s signature, washed down with signature cocktails and craft beer from the Street Lounge Bar.

In addition to the more familiar dishes and toppings the menu will also include sweetcorn purée, the lesser known cousin of tomato purée.
The unique paste will feature exclusively on the Corn and Chorizo pizza and will cost £15, the same as the other bottomless pizzas on the menu; Peperoni, Classic Margherita, Charred Aubergine. and the Daily Special.
This means that price will not be a deterrent for those who want to be adventurous and sample something a little bit different.
Whilst the multi-Michelin starred chef did not comment on the surprise addition to he did release a statement expressing his excitement about the launch of his latest restaurant and its famous location.
He said: “London is an incredible city. From the banks of the Thames you can see some of London’s most famous buildings: the Tower of London, Houses of Parliament and of course the iconic Battersea Power Station.
"For many years I would travel home to South London, after a late service, crossing the river in the shadows of those huge derelict chimneys, never did I imagine one day I would open a restaurant on such a historic site and become part of such a thriving community.”
