Greg James horrified as dog Barney does obscenely big wee on floor of South Western Railway train

The trip started normally by all accounts -Greg said he and Barney were on the way to the vet to sort out the arthritis in his knee by getting an operation. "He loves the train, we've had a load of journeys together," said Greg who even claimed he had had a toilet break beforehand in preparation

Other passengers were petting Barney and enjoying his company. "He was all round being a very very good boy.... until -he shuffles over to the door and does the biggest p I've ever seen. And I panic, I freeze. What are you supposed to do in this situation I'm not exaggerating when I tell you, it was two minutes of p."

After "flapping around" paralysed with embarrassment -and taking a couple of quick photos of the soggy crime scene -'so his girlfriend could laugh at him' -Greg said he spoke to two women on the train who happened to be dog owners. Greg said, after desperately asking "What can I do here they told him "There's nothing you can do".

Greg tried in vain to clean up the "lake" of pee by getting some toilet paper from the loo in the train but he couldn't get enough tissue to soak it all up. At the end of the saga, Greg and Barney just had to get off...
