Grim weekend in London as two men stabbed to death and woman found dead in car

Friday afternoon -Man dies after fight in Streatham

On Friday afternoon April 5 an altercation broke out at a home in South London. Police were called to Fernwood Avenue in Streatham at around 2.25 to reports of the fight, but when they arrived, they found a man, in his 50s, unresponsive.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later. At 38-year-old man has been arrested, but released on bail pending further enquiries.

Friday night -Stabbing in Southall

A teenager was stabbed in West London on Friday night April 5. Police rushed to High Street in Southall, at around 7.50pm to reports of the incident.

Officers found a 17-year-old who had been stabbed in the back. He was taken to hospital, but police have said his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

Saturday morning -Woman found dead in car in Hackney

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead in a car in East London. Police were called to Whiston Road in Hackney shortly before 6.45am on Saturday April 6 after a concern for welfare report.

Officers found the woman unresponsive inside a car in an alleyway. They forced their way into the vehicle and carried out CPR until paramedics arrived. But the woman, aged in her mid 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. Police say they believe the woman and the man arrested were known to each other.
