Heartfelt tributes to popular Edinburgh teacher who died in horror car crash

Her close friend William Fisher is looking to raise funds for a memorial tree and bench in Inverleith Park, where he and Trudi would meet with others. He said she was an "incredible" woman who "never said no to challenge".

William told us: "We became friends about 27 years ago, she taught at my daughter's school. We became close with her and her husband, and did marathons or long walks and boot camps together. We all used to meet up in Inverleith Park for exercise classes, and had many post class catch ups.

"She was just amazing. She said yes to everything, never said no to a challenge. She was friends with everyone, and an incredible teacher. Firm, but fair."

William and other friends who meet in Inverleith Park to work out are now fundraising to plant a tree in Trudi's memory, and if they raise enough they're also hoping for a bench. He added: "There's a lot of people in Edinburgh who loved Trudi. We want to have something tangible, a way for us to honour her."
