Hearts 'remain interested' in former Doncaster defender after 2021 transfer fell through

A serious ankle and knee injury has disrupted the 27-year-old's career that looked set to grant him a move north after a strong season in England's League one. He made 157 appearances for Doncaster following time at Accrington Stanley and Huddersfield Town, ending his five year stay last summer

Persistent injury issues have prevented him from returning for a pre-season with Hearts, who are now in Spain for a warm weather training camp ahead of their Premiership campaign starting in July.

He is still recovering from more than a year out with injury and Edinburgh Evening News report that manager Robbie Neilson and his club 'remain interested.' An offer to train with the squad is open once Wright feels fit enough to make his comeback.
