Hibs academy chief Steve Kean responds to management return query as he admits 'you never know' despite Leith happiness

The Englishman was appointed to the role at the Premiership club last year in his first since his 2021 departure from Australian A-League side Melbourne Victory, where he was assistant manager and subsequently caretaker boss

His last permanent management job ended in 2017 at Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Football Club and he made his return to football three years ago as Greek side OFI Crete's technical director.

Kean managed Blackburn Rovers for a two-year spell that ended in 2012 after spells as number two at Real Sociedad, Fulham and Coventry City. It was reported earlier this summer that he was in the running for the vacant job at Championship side Dundee but that eventually went to former Salford City gaffer Gary Bowyer.

While happy in his current role in developing the next generation of Hibs academy players that they hope will one day turn out at Easter Road, Kean says that he won't close the door on management.
