Holiday misery as Spain bans all flights from UK in latest Covid crackdown

Borders will be closed to all entries from the UK except for Spanish nationals and residents from tomorrow Tuesday, December 22.

Most major airlines and tour operators were continuing with festive breaks and flights to the Canary Islands, but these face the axe following the emergence of a mutant variant of the Covid virus.

Expats and non-Spanish residents will still be allowed entry, if they have a negative PCR test result.

Spain has resisted some demands for a total ban on arrivals from the UK. Portugal will also ban UK arrivals and border procedures will be strengthened in Gibraltar, it has been reported.
