South Korea-based Hyundai Motor Company (KSE: 005380), has collaborated with Pony.ai and Via to launch BotRide, a shared, on-demand, autonomous vehicle service operating on public roads.
A fleet of self-driving Hyundai KONA Electric SUVs is to provide a free ride-sharing service to the local community of Irvine, California effective November 4, 2019.
BotRide will operate from November 4, 2019 until January 31, 2020 as part of the program's pilot phase.
