But despite this, I didn't manage to get tickets to see her perform in London this summer. Tickets for the pop sensation's upcoming Eras Tour concerts are being flogged for over £500 on resale sites, with some even reaching the £1,000 mark. Even though there are cheaper alternatives I've still been priced out. So, as a way to nurse my broken heart, I decided that the next best thing might be a night of wall to wall Taylor

The 'Swiftogeddon' club night runs monthly at various venues in London, as well as at other venues across the country. Tickets start from £12.68 at Troxy, in East London, and Clapham Grand, in South London, rising to around £20 a ticket if you get them closer to the event itself.

Doors open at 9pm but last entry is 11pm, our tickets warned, so my friend Fiona and I got glammed up and made our way to Troxy in Limehouse. The first thing that struck us both was the variety and colour of everyone's outfits.

It was a euphoric experience from start to finish. Taylor's songs, playing at top volume with the bass turned right up, are impossible not to sing along to, even if you're just a casual fan.

A Taylor Swift-themed club night is, unsurprisingly, pure Taylor Swift. It made me realise that I am just an amateur fan compared to many people at the club that night, who seemed to know every word to even Taylor's least well known songs.

The music was led by two DJs who would take it in turns to control the decks or come out and hype up the dancers, with a huge screen behind playing Taylor's music videos -though not the same ones as the songs that were playing at the same time, which was a bit jarring for a while.

And if you think that they just played Taylor's best hits and upbeat, party tracks, think again. At around midnight, the DJs introduced the next 10 songs as some of the most important songs ever written.

This set of tracks...
