Swedish networking products and solutions provider InCoax Networks AB (STO:INCOAX) announced on Friday the significance of 5G mmWave Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) Extension technology in delivering faster connectivity to apartment complexes.

This technology, particularly InCoax's MoCA Access-based system solution, utilizes existing coaxial cabling within buildings. By doing so, it enables network operators to tap into the previously untapped market of brownfield MDUs (Multi-Dwelling Units), making homes passed but unconnected economically viable.

Recent research by RVA/Fiber Broadband Association reveals that less than 45% of US homes passed by networks are actually connected, contributing to a growing connectivity gap. The primary obstacle has been the high deployment costs and invasive installations required to access apartments with new cables.
