Insurance firms are said to be considering dropping support for Canada's Trans Mountain pipeline over environmental issues.

Already, insurance firm, Talanx, has withdrawn from providing support for the project. Munich Re (MUV2.DE) is considering withdrawing from the project in line with its new 2020 policy of not insuring oilsands extraction projects or dedicated oilsands infrastructure, such as pipelines.
