iPhone users issued urgent warning amid new Apple Pay scam

It comes as Which? revealed users with the phones are receiving texts claiming that their Apple Pay had been suspended. It then directs users to a link asking them to reactivate their account

According to a screenshot of the text message, the scam comes from a mobile number starting +44. It reads: "Apple Pay has been suspended on your device. Please visit" followed by a website link.

With more and more scams on the rise thanks fraudsters taking advantage of situations such as COVID, people are being warned to keep and eye out for key indicators that it may not be legit. And whilst experts are stressing people not to click on the link, for investigation purposes their team did.

However when they clicked on the link they found that the first big red flag they came across was their browser security settings blocked them from accessing this website. If you do click on the link and are worried you've given details to a scammer, people are being urged to contact your bank immediately and report the scam to Action Fraud - or the police...
