Kate Garraway will make a permanent return to Good Morning Britain after breaking viewers' hearts with an emotional interview about her husband Derek Draper.

Kate and her family have had an incredibly traumatic few months after former Labour aide Derek contracted coronavirus and was then taken into intensive care, where he has remained ever since.

Earlier this week, Kate Garraway admits husband Derek Draper faces 'an uncertain path' after coronavirus battle with his recovery, taking to Instagram to post: "Derek recovering & coming home is not nearly in sight & very uncertain.

"But it feels positive to share how we are trying to keep ourselves going as I know so many are dealing with terrible challenges in all sorts of ways as we all try to emerge from these ghastly times, just as we continue to hope Derek can emerge from his minimum state of consciousness.
