Knife killer Jordan Jobson ruins her chance of freedom; Samantha Madgin's murderer is returned to closed jail after incident at open prison.

Teen knife killer Jordan Jobson has ruined her bid for freedom by threatening another inmate, ChronicleLive understands.

We revealed earlier this year how the murderer, who stabbed new mum Samantha Madgin to death, had been moved to an open prison in preparation for her release.

However, her victim's family have been told that Jobson was returned to her former jail last week following an incident at HMP Askham Grange, an open prison in Yorkshire, on Tuesday.

ChronicleLive understands she threatened another inmate.

Jobson's actions mean she is now unlikely to be freed when the 11-year minimum term of her life sentence comes to an end this August.

Samantha's mum Alison, who has spent the last two years trying to prevent Jobson from being moved to an open prison, told ChronicleLive that the incident proved her daughter's killer had not changed her ways and should not be released.

The 52-year-old said: "I'm relieved she is back where she belongs.

"It just proves everything that we thought about her. Luckily she wasn't out on the streets when this happened. If she can do that in a prison what will she be like when she's out?"

Jobson had never met 18-year-old Samantha before their paths crossed by chance, in August 2007. Outgoing Samantha had been enjoying her first night out since giving birth to her son Callum when a disturbance broke out in aWallsendalleyway and 15-year-old Jobson armed herself with a knife.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how Jobson had been drinking vodka and snorting cocaine before she stabbed unarmed Samantha 10 times in the face, arms and chest and inflicted six other knife injuries.

One of the blows pierced her lung and severed a major artery near her heart and nothing could be done to save her.

The senseless killing left Samantha's family broken and robbed her son Callum, who was just 10 weeks old at the time, of his mum.
