Kym Marsh branded 'sensational' as she hits blue carpet and says late father 'would want to be here'

Kym was representing Waterloo Road, in which she plays Nicky Walters, alongside co-star Adam Ali, who stars as student Kai Shariff in the BBC One series, at the prestigious ceremony after the school-based drama was nominated in the Soap and Continuing Drama category

And Kym wowed fans as she hit the blue carpet in a black mini-dress. The 47-year-old showed off her incredible figure in the beautiful ensemble which brought a bit of fun as it boasted pink feather sleeves before she added sheer tights to her leg and finished with a pair of black heels.

Kym's hair stylist Martine Alexander took to Instagram and shared a string of pictures of the former Coronation Street star posing for the camera in the eye-catching outfit as she explained the thought behind the look.

Captioning the post, she wrote: "@marsh_kym x @royaltelevisionsociety When less is more...To create an evening look whilst it's still wet outside and dreary, add a 10 denier tight instead of 40 or 100, to give a more glamorous feel to your outfit, instead of a more office, daytime look.

"Simple touches like feathers and the sparkle of the bag will add a subtle statement so your outfit, whilst still making your outfit effortlessly chic! STYLED BY ME. I loved creating this look for Kym! The feathers are such a fun touch to the outfit and give a small hint of spring!"
