A Tynemouth artist who set up a business doodling bulidings on-demand is looking to expand into commercial artwork after success with domestic commissions.

'Street Doodler' Sarah Sutherland draws buildings on commission, and currently receives lots of orders for houses and wedding venues.

Her work, which she hand-draws before using a digital colouring process also covers commercial property - an area she is keen to expand the business into.

She said: "I think part of the reason I've got this far is that people are investing more in their properties nowadays. They really enjoy the idea of having something unique to them to put on their wall.

"I get a lot of commissions for wedding venues for a similar reason - not usually from the bride and groom, but from the guests. It's all about getting someone a personalised souvenir of their big day.

"As wedding venues are a popular choice, I'm keen to expand the business into the commercial market - I really enjoy drawing commercial property. It's always very satisfying seeing your work used on things like marketing materials and menus and helping businesses do well."

Ms Sutherland first had the idea for the business when a drawing she did of a friend's holiday cottage attracted a significant amount of interest on social media.

Demand built up from there, picking up increasing numbers of requests for drawings from people who had seen her work...
