Livent (NYSE: LTHM), a US-based fully integrated lithium company, has signed a multi-year sourcing agreement with United States-based General Motors Company (NYSE: GM).
Under the contract, Livent is to provide the automaker with battery-grade lithium hydroxide made mainly from lithium extracted at Livent's brine-based operations in South America. Livent's lithium hydroxide will be utilised in the automaker's Ultium battery cathodes that will power electric vehicles such as the new Chevrolet Blazer EV, Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC HUMMER EV and Cadillac LYRIQ.
