LNER Edinburgh services return to normal after lorry crash but urge people to plan ahead

It comes after a road accident near the railway on Thursday (June 24) between Newcastle and Edinburgh caused "severe disruption" to selected services

As a result, limited trains were in place between Newcastle and Edinburgh though in an update, LNER has said people should still plan ahead before travelling as they are still "experiencing high volume of customers".

The tweet by LNER reads: "Services between Newcastle and Edinburgh have resumed to the existing timetable. We are experiencing high volume of customers so please check here before you travel."

If you still need to travel, LNER state on their website that tickets dated June 24 will still remain valid for travel to Edinburgh and Glasgow on Avanti West Coast and within Scotland on ScotRail.
