London's most dangerous areas as 6 teens knifed to death on streets in 3 months

In 2020, London crime: Map shows London's most dangerous boroughs in 2020 was actually higher than previous years despite months of national lockdown.

In the first three months of 2021, London knife crime: The 6 teenagers stabbed to death in the capital so far this year with thousands of other violent crimes taking place across the capital.

These include law student Hussain Chaudhry. The 18-year-old was stabbed to death outside his home on Lea Bridge Road, Walthamstow on March 17.

Romario Opia, who was just 15, was fatally knifed yards from his grandmother's house in Islington on January 25.

Over 100,000 crimes have been reported in the first two months of 2021 according to Metropolitan Police data with violence against the person the most common crime, followed by theft and vehicle offences.

We compiled a list of the most dangerous boroughs in London based on this early year data.

5. Hackney -4,140

The East London borough of Hackney is the fifth most dangerous borough in London according to Metropolitan Police data from January and February.

The borough saw 4,140 reported crimes in that time frame. Violence against the person was the most common crime with over 1,000 incidents reported in just two months.

This was followed by theft with 929 reported incidents.

4. Southwark -4,192

The South London borough was the fourth most dangerous borough in London so far this year with 4,192 incidents reported.

Violence against the person was the most reported incident in the borough with 1,148 reported incidents. Theft was the second most common with just under 1,000 incidents in just two months, and vehicle offences the third most common.

3. Tower Hamlets -4,572

The third most dangerous borough in the capital so far this year takes us back to East London.

Tower Hamlets has seen over 4,500 reported crimes in just two months with violence again the most commonly reported incident with 1,337 incidents.

2. Newham -4,733

The second most dangerous borough in London so far this year is East London also with Newham which has recorded 1,411 violent crimes in two months.

Newham was one of the locations of a double stabbing in February that occurred only 45 minutes apart.
