London Tier 4: Sainsbury's warns of 'broccoli and fruit shortage' if UK coronavirus travel ban continues

The supermarket said while there should be enough supplies for Christmas dinner, "stock gaps" will start to appear in the next few days.

According to Sky News, items including lettuce, some salad leaves, cauliflower, broccoli and citrus fruit could be in short supply for shoppers.

The brand said it is trying to sources products from the UK and looking into alternative transport for good from Europe.

The news comes as lots of destinations in Europe have banned plane, train and road crossings from the UK after Boris Johnson announced the nation was battling a mutant strain of coronavirus.
