Lottery players urged to check tickets as eight winners are yet to claim £1m; The National Lottery is urging the remaining eight winners to check their tickets and come forward to claim their prize.

The National Lottery are urging players to double check their tickets, as it was revealed that eight winner have yet to claim their life-changing £1m prize.

Friday's EuroMillions European Millionaire Maker event saw 100 winners, with 24 UK players included. Along with the usual UK Millionaire Maker winner, that meant a total of 25 UK players instantly became £1m richer.

Since Friday night's special draw, 17 UK players have claimed their prize, however, the remaining eight £1m winners are being urged to check their tickets and come forward to claim their prize before it's too late -The Mirror reports.

After Thursday, the method of play will be released for any prizes that remain unclaimed from the draw.

Approximately two weeks after the draw, if no valid claim has been received, the area in which any outstanding tickets were purchased will be released.

Camelot's Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at The National Lottery, said, "Friday night's special EuroMillions draw was just that -special!

"Not only were 24 lucky UK winners of a cool £1,000,000 created, thanks to the special 100 millionaires European Millionaire Maker draw but, as with every single EuroMillions draw, there was one lucky UK Millionaire Maker winner too -25 UK millionaires in just one night.

"We will now start to support the 17 ticketholders who have come forward to claim their prize but are also very keen to find the missing eight.

"You could be sat on £1m and not even know it.
