Three of Manchester City's next four matches are at the Etihad against sides they will be long odds-on to beat so even at this early stage of the season, Pep Guardiola's side have an oportunity to crank up the pressure on their title rivals

It will be one of the biggest shocks in Premier League history if 1/14 chances City faily to beat newly-promoted Bournemouth, who are 33/1 with Betway to stun the champions. Even the draw is a double-figure price 10/1.

City got their title defence off to the perfect start with a routine 2-0 win in what looked a potentially tricky trip to West Ham but it was the performance of star summer signing Erling Haaland that shook the very foundations of the rest of the footballing world.

City were already an outstanding football team but now they have a striker that looks almost unplayable at times and Pep Guardiola's side are going to be incredibly tough to stop not only on the domestic stage, but also in Europe. Haaland could easily be the player that finally fires City to a first Champions League.

Sides like Bournemouth are going to sit with low compact blocks at the Etihad and there won't be a great deal of space for Haaland to make those darting runs in behind defenders.

It's that work that should enable him to get on the end of City's classy build-up play and fire City to another three points on Saturday.

Bournemouth remain red-hot favourites to make a quick return to the Championship despite last weekend's confidence-boosting win over Aston Villa. Scott Parker's side took advantage of an inept display from their rivals but they won't get such a helping hand at the Etihad, where City averaged three goals a game last term.
