An appeal has been launched after a man was found with serious head injuries in a Sunderland street.
Northumbria Police said a 54-year-old man was found at the entrance to Darcy Court in Hendon Road, Sunderland, at around 5.35pm on December 15.
The man had been dropped off there by a taxi and officers believe he may have sustained the injury after a fall in the street.
He was taken to the RVI hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
