Man punched so hard in chip shop row he lost sight in one eye

The victim, a man in his early 30s, was repeatedly punched in the face after joking about his attacker’s clown mask outside a fish and chip restaurant at 7.30pm on June 2.

As a result of the assault the victim suffered a fracture to his cheekbone, a broken nose, a broken finger and has lost the sight in one eye.

The victim and a friend were standing outside the restaurant in Stoke Newington High Street in Hackney when two men entered, one wearing a clown mask.

The attacker took offence when the victim joked he wouldn’t be let in with his mask on.

The two men then followed the victim and his friend from outside the shop and one of them threw a metal chair at him.

The victim was then set upon and repeatedly punched in the face.

Both suspects made off and police and London Ambulance Service were called, after which the victim was taken to hospital.

The suspects are described as two black males and there have been no arrests so far.
