Martin's 're-book trick' allows holiday makers to get the best deal on their hotel if the price falls after they've booked it. The hack, which can save you hundreds, simply relies on the hotel having a free cancellation policy

Sharing the tip to MoneySavingExpert.com Martin writes: "If the price of your hotel has dropped and your booking allows free cancellation, simply rebook for less. Check the latest prices on comparison sites Skyscanner, Kayak, and TripAdvisor - and keep checking before you go."

One fan of Martin, shared her success with the hack to Twitter. Alison wrote: "I saved £200 when the price dropped two days before travel."

But holidaymakers are advised to take care when re-booking their hotel, as some cancellation charges may apply. In most cases, there's still potential to save a decent amount of money if the price of the room has dropped significantly.

After checking the terms and conditions of their booking, holiday makers can simply book another room in the same hotel for the lower price. They can then cancel their original booking free of charge, saving themselves hundreds at a time.
