Reece Young, 23, was stabbed to death in a fight on Alpha Road, Croydon at just after 9pm on Tuesday, March 30.

Metropolitan Police reported that the stabbing took place at a "small vigil in remembrance of another recent fatal stabbing victim".

The vigil is Croydon stabbing: 23-year-old was stabbed to death at 'vigil' for teenager killed in same road, 19, who was killed on the same street on March 3.

It was just one of several memorials organised to celebrate Tai's life, including a balloon release in Wandle Park and a memorial of candles and flowers outside his home in Alpha Road.

As yet, it is unknown whether Reece or his attackers knew Tai, but police have confirmed that they "do not believe these two incidents are directly linked".

Two other men, who presented at hospital separately with stab wounds believed to have been sustained at the same incident, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

One of the men, a 33-year-old, remains in hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The other, also in his 30s, assaulted police officers and NHS staff after his arrest and forced his way out of the hospital. An urgent search was carried out and he was returned to custody yesterday evening Wednesday, March 31.

Police are appealing for any photos, videos or eyewitness statements from anyone who was at the vigil or witnessed the incident.
