Evil Tom Rodwell used the dating website Tinder to hunt out his victims between 2017 and 2020

The 31-year-old then struck, carrying out attacks in Billingham, Middlesbrough and Stockton.

Yesterday, he was told he must serve at least 12 years behind bars.

Teesside Crown Court heard how Rodwell - who had over 100 sexual partners - liked rough sex, slapping and choking his victims before degrading and taunting them about any vulnerability he could find.

Horrific details of the physical and psychological abuse he inflicted were aired at his sentencing, while some of his five victims bravely read out their statements in court.

Rodwell raped his first victim whilst on leave from his job in the navy.

After asking Rodwell to stop during rough sex, he pinned her down.

As she tried escaping, he attacked her - warning the woman that it "was not her decision to say she didn't want sex" and that, "it was what he wanted that mattered".

The victim told the court that she used to be a "confident and sociable person" but that she is now "nauseous and shaking" if someone invites her out.

He told another victim that he wanted to "get her pregnant' and even binned her contraceptive pills.

In a sickening taunt after one attack, he sent the victim a WhatsApp message asking, "When can I rape you again?"

"At night I often wonder if he feels ashamed or does he even remember, there were so many (victims)," she told the court.

"I hope the shame eats him alive". Another victim described how he hit her on the back of the head - claiming she deserved it - telling the court that she thought that Rodwell would have killed her if he hadn't been arrested.

His fourth victim was raped in a Middlesbrough hotel, while he told his fifth victim he wanted to own her.

The court heard that Rodwell had no previous convictions although he had been charged with similar offences in Scotland in 2018, but had been acquitted.
