Morrisons is bringing back a retro trend from the 1980s and 90s to its shelves

The move follows certain stores providing paper bags for vegetables over plastic ones to help the environment.

Customers in two cities will see the advent or rather, reappearance of glass bottles of milk which can be reused -just like when it used to be delivered to your front door!

Customers can get their milk in glass bottles and then return them and pick up another. The bottles will be sanitised by Morrisons and then reused for future pints, as a way of cutting down plastic packaging.

Packaging manager for Morrisons, Natasha Cook, has said: “We want to help our customers live their lives with less plastic.

“Reusing glass milk bottles is an easy leap for many people to make because they remember that this was how milk used to arrive on the doorstep.

"We’re currently talking to other local dairies and hope to be able to roll out glass milk bottles...
