Most popular travel-inspired baby names in the UK shared by new study

While traditionally many parents have named their children after close family members, loved ones, or even prominent historical figures and celebrities, recent years have seen parents get a little more creative when thinking up potential baby names

The research by Bounce analysed baby name data from the past 20 years to discover which travel destinations around the world are sparking inspiration for baby names.

The ten top names travel-inspired baby names for boys in the UK came in as:

Chester - 3,410 boys names

2.

Preston - 3,082 boys names

3.

Phoenix - 2,738 boys names

4.

Milan - 1,947 boys names

5.

Orlando - 1,102 boys names

6.

Israel - 1,015 boys names

7.

Cairo - 969 boys names

8.

Rome - 562 boys names

9.

Sydney - 531 boys names

10.

Caspian 531 boys names

Chester is the most popular travel-related baby name for boys in the UK. Although a small city in the northwest of England, Chester's quaint and attractive appearance makes it a popular destination for many Brits and has clearly left a great impression, with 3,410 babies being named after the city.

In second place is the city of Preston. In the UK, as many as 3,082 babies have been called Preston between 2000 and 2020.
