In exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 22 and 108(1) of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978(a) and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following regulations:—

Citation and commencement

1. These regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (Vocational Training) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1984 and shall come into operation on 6th September 1984.

Amendment

2. In regulation 5(5)(a)(i) of the National Health Service (Vocational Training) (Scotland) Regulations 1980(b) for the words "28th June 1983" there shall be substituted the words "31st July 1984".

Revocations

3. The National Health Service (Vocational Training) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1981(c), and the National Health Service (Vocational Training) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1982(d) are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Regulations.)

These regulations amend in regulation 5(5)(a)(i) of the National Health Service (Vocational Training) (Scotland) Regulations 1980 the definition of "educationally approved post".

In terms of regulation 5(5)(a)(i) such a post is defined as one in a hospital or with a Health Board in Scotland employment in which was, immediately before the date specified there, currently 28th June 1983, approved by the Postgraduate Medical Education Committee for the purposes of training for the provision of general medical services.
