Newcastle United have team to bedevil Manchester United at Old Trafford; Pace and pressing are the most important things when you go to Old Trafford - and Newcastle United have both.

Newcastle United have the perfect team to unwrap Manchester United today.

The keys to beating the Red Devils are pace and pressing -- and we have both.

Louis van Gaal's team are not that good defensively, and the problems the Magpies caused Sunderland at the weekend gives me hope that we can win at Old Trafford for a second year running.

Since Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand left at the end of last season, Manchester United have been unable to find the right defensive pairing -- or trio, because van Gaal often likes to play with a back three.

It's hardly surprising given all the money they've spent since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, but they have plenty of attacking talent to choose from.

But I'm not that worried as long as we go to Manchester on the front foot.

They've got lots of clever players on the ball, but the likes of Juan Mata and Angel Di Maria don't like to defend.

If you leave them to organise and make things happen, you are never going to win. But press them high up the pitch and you can cause plenty of problems to that shakey defence.

We've got the energy to do that.

The important thing is that when you win the ball back, you break quickly. Newcastle have the pace to do that.

In my day we hardly ever won at Man U. We always struggled there, and at Arsenal.

I don't know if it was a tactical thing, or just because they were very clever teams who were difficult to play against.

We liked to hold a high line and the Red Devils liked to get in behind, so that certainly helped them.

And with all the things that have changed at Old Trafford over the last 18 months, that hasn't.

They're still a very tricky team...
