Newcastle United hit by triple injury blow as problems mount up for Magpies; Eddie Howe will dust himself down before assessing a spate of injuries suffered before and during Champions League encounter with Borussia Dortmund.

Newcastle United could be without three players for their crunch clash at Wolves on Saturday night -with bigger concerns over the availability of Jacob Murphy and Elliot Anderson.

Murphy dislocated his shoulder just five minutes after coming on against the German side and just days after a 10/10 showing against Crystal Palace. Anderson has suffered a back injury and will miss the next few weeks.

On a night in which Alexander Isak was also hit with a recurrence of a groin problem, the problems are mounting for Howe and his backroom team. After losing 1-0 to Dortmund, the impending ban for Sandro Tonali is set to come through in the coming days.

But Isak, Murphy and Anderson look set to miss the clash against Wolves. Eddie Howe said after the game: "Jacob came off with what looks like a serious injury.

"We've got a small squad as is it. That's probably the most disappointing thing of the night.
