Newcastle United face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League with Eddie Howe making a couple of tweaks to his starting line-up -and Joe Willock was back on the bench.

Willock has been missing since the end of last season with hamstring and achilles problems and fans were thrilled to see him make a slightly earlier return than expected.

Howe handed Alexander Isak and Miguel Almiron a start in the crunch clash in Group F but kept faith with much of the staring XI that have kept the side on an unbeaten run.

Nick Pope started in goal with Kieran Trippier, Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar and Dan Burn making up the defensive rearguard. Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton were in the engine room. And Miguel Almiron, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon were in the front three.

Newcastle knew they could put Dortmund on the brink of elimination if they picked up three points at St James' Park. And they could take a huge step into the last 16 of the Champions League themselves.
