Nicola Sturgeon gifts The Queen special bottle of whisky during Edinburgh meeting

Sturgeon, who has met the monarch on several occasions, was captured presenting the bottle of Johnnie Walker to Her Majesty after she spied it sitting on the nearby table

The Queen has been present in the capital since the start of the week as the royal family enjoy their annual pilgrimage to Scotland, with Princes Charles also shocking locals in the Newington area earlier on in the day as he was escorted from Surgeon's Hall.

Shortly after her hugely-celebrated Platinum Jubilee, The Queen has been getting back to business after health scares.

But today, she looked her usual self dressed in a summery flower-patterned outfit to meet the First Minister, reports the Record.

A video from inside the room captured the encounter between the pair, with Ms Sturgeon explaining the significance of each of the gifts prepared for Her Majesty, including the special bottle.

The First Minister is seen walking into the roof as the Queen wishes her a 'good morning'.

The First Minister bows her head, and says: "Your Majesty, how lovely to see you. Welcome, I'm so glad you have been able to come to Edinburgh."

The Queen replies: "I know, it is very nice to be back again."
