Finnish telecoms, IT and consumer electronics company Nokia Oyj (HEL:NOKIA) (NYSE:NOK) on Tuesday announced the latest additions to its FastMile 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) portfolio with new indoor and outdoor devices designed to enhance speeds and coverage.
These innovations aim to help operators optimise radio capacity and enhance FWA service coverage.
Nokia's research suggests that, by placing the right device in the right location within the customer's premises, operators can potentially save up to 60% of network capacity that might otherwise be wasted. This involves using outdoor Receivers in areas with weaker signals and indoor Gateways where signals are strong, to help recover up to 30% of network capacity.
The FastMile 5G Receiver from Nokia is tailored for locations with weak signals, featuring high gain antennas of up to 10 dBi, compact outdoor design and self-installation options. With 4 carrier aggregation and up to 300MHz of bandwidth, this receiver maximises available signals...
