Novelis Inc., a US-based sustainable solutions provider in aluminium rolling and recycling, is planning to collaborate with Southern Company, a United States-based gas and electric utility holding company, on decarbonisation efforts.

The companies initial concentration is on Novelis' new Bay Minette, Alabama, facility, which intends to be carbon neutral for scope one and two greenhouse gas emissions. Presently, the recycling and rolling facility is under construction to help meet the increasing demand for more sustainable beverage packaging and will support the automotive industry in North America, which includes the increase in electric vehicle production.
